John the Baptist testifies of Jesus at Aenon Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying. And they came unto John, and said to him, Rabbi, he that was with you beyond Jordan, to whom you bore witness, behold, the same baptizes, and all men come to him. John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Messiah, but that I am sent before him. He that has the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease. He that comes from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaks of the earth: he that comes from heaven is above all. And what he has seen and heard, that he testifies; and no man receives his testimony. He that has received his testimony has set his seal of approval that God is true. For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God: for God does not give the Spirit by measure unto him. The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand. He that believes on the Son has everlasting Life: and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him.... John 3:25-36

And he must needs go through Samaria. Then came he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, ( Shechem in ancient texts ) near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat on the well curb: and it was about the sixth hour (noon). There came a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saidto her, Give me a drink (For his disciples were gone away into the city to buy food.) Then said the woman of Samaria to him, How is it that you, being a Jew, ask drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. Jesus answered and said to her, If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is speaking to you, you would have asked of him, and he would have given you living water. The woman said to him, Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then have you that living water? Are you greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? Jesus answered and said to her, Whoever drinks of this water shall thirst again: But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting Life. The woman said to him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come here to draw. Jesus said to her, Go, call your husband, and come back here. The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said to her, You have well said, I have no husband: For you have had five husbands; and he whom you now have is not your husband: in that you said truly. The woman said to him, Sir, I perceive that you are a Prophet. Our fathers worshipped on this mountain; and you say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. Jesus said to her, Woman, believe me, the hour comes, when you shall neither on this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. You worship you know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeks such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. The woman said to him, I know that Messiah is coming, which is called Christ: when he is comes, he will tell us all things. Jesus said to her, I that am speaking to you am he. ... John 4:4-26
The Woman invites the City to hear Jesus And upon this came his disciples, and marveled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What do you want? or, Why do you talk with her? The woman then left her water pot, and went her way into the city, and said to the men, Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Messiah? Then they went out of the city, and came to him. In the meanwhile his disciples prayed him, saying, Teacher, eat. But he said to them, I have meat to eat that you know not of. Therefore the disciples said one to another, Has any man brought him anything to eat? Jesus said to them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. Don't say, There are yet four months, and then comes harvest? behold, I say to you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. (the people coming out to see him) And he that reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit unto Life eternal: that both he that sows and he that reaps may rejoice together. And herein is that saying true, One sows, and another reaps. I sent you to reap that whereon you bestowed no labor: other men labored, and you are entered into their labors.
The City invites Jesus to hold His first (two day) Revival And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did. So when the Samaritans were come to him, they besought him that he would stay with them: and he stayed there two days. And many more believed because of his own word; And said to the woman, Now we believe, not because of your words: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Messiah, the Savior of the world.
The beginning of Jesus' Galilean ministry Now when Jesus had heard that John the Baptist was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee; And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the Prophet, saying, The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles; The people which sat in darkness saw a great Light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death Light is sprung up. From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand. Matthew 4:12 - 17
Jesus Heals a Nobleman's Son at Cana
So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum. When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went to him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death. Then said Jesus to him, Except you see signs and wonders, you will not believe. The nobleman said to him, Sir, come down ere my child die. Jesus said to him, Go your way; your son lives. And the man believed the Word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way. And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Your son lives.
Then he inquired of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said to him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him. So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said to him, Your son lives: and he believed, and his whole house. This is the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee. ... John 4:46-54

And there was delivered unto him the scroll of the prophet Isaiah. And when he had opened the scroll, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the scroll, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say to them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears. And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son? And he said to them, You will surely say to me this proverb, Physician, heal yourself: whatever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in your country. And he said, Truly, I say to you, No Prophet is accepted in his own country. But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land; But unto none of them was Elijah sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow. And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Elisha the Prophet; and none of them was cleansed, except Naaman the Syrian. And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong. But he passing through the midst of them went his way, Luke 4:16-30
