Please can you let me
have some quotes for christian teachings on
euthanasia
/ abortion
thanks.
Dear Graham, The Bible has
a few things on aborting an unwanted baby (now
called "fetus", the Latin word for baby). We know
that the baby (John the Baptist) leaped inside
Elizabeth's womb when she greeted Mary during her
sixth month of pregnancy. In the Old Testament
murdering unwanted babies was practiced while the
Worship service was going on and a loud drum called
"Topheth" was beat to drown out the sound of
screaming babies being rolled down the arms into
the furnace of Molech . Euthanasia or murdering
older or sick people would also come under the
subject of murder...

The Hippocratic Oath
in the version I know prohibits any induced
abortion. Harald Mertes, MD .....
So does the Declaration of Geneva:..."I will
maintain the utmost respect for human life from its
beginning even under threat and I will not use my
medical knowledge contrary to the laws of
humanity"...Andrzej Trojanowski MD
Many believe that to
support such sins whether by the Ballot box or by
doing nothing makes us equally guilty. As Dante
said "The hottest regions of Hell are populated by
people who saw the wrong and did nothing". I point
this out to Pastors when I have the opportunity but
because money or power or loss of members is at
stake very few preach it. Both these sins ( Paul
was a murderer) can be forgiven and we can be
washed clean by the Blood of Jesus ... and many
have!

E--How do we determine
Easter every year?...
J.L.W.
The ecclesiastical rules are:
* Easter falls on the first Sunday following the first
ecclesiastical full moon that occurs on or after the day of
the vernal equinox;
* this particular ecclesiastical full moon is the 14th
day of a tabular lunation (new moon); and
* the vernal equinox is fixed as March 21. resulting in
that Easter can never occur before March 22 or later than
April 25. The Gregorian dates for the ecclesiastical full
moon come from the Gregorian tables. Therefore, the civil
date of Easter depends upon which tables - Gregorian or
pre-Gregorian - are used. The western (Roman Catholic and
Protestent) Christian churches use the Gregorian tables;
many eastern (Orthodox) Christian churches use the older
tables based on the Julian Calendar.

How many days was Jesus in the
tomb ?
Jesus was a Jew, so Roman calendar days would be useless
to Him. To a Jew the day begins at sundown not midnight. So
we have the Passover on the start of Jewish friday at 6.00
PM, which is our thursday evening 6.00 PM. That evening he
was arrested and tried and sentenced to death. He was
crucified about high noon, died at the same time the Lambs
for the Evening Sacrifice were slain, that is 3.00 PM and
buried toward the end of Jewish friday - before the
Sabbath started at 6.00 PM. The next Jewish day, Saturday
the Sabbath, started at 6.00 PM friday after he was
in the tomb. The next Jewish day, Sunday, started at 6.00 PM
Roman time Saturday. He was still in the tomb, but at the
start of the latter part of this Jewish Day he arose. This
day also happened to be the first day of the week on the
Roman calendar which we call Sunday. Sunday sunrise is the
first day of the week to the Jews whereas our Sunday starts
at Midnight. ...... This is a little hard to grasp.

Theology of the book
of
Exodus ?
Dear Joseph,
Exodus
refers to the "going out" and
is the second part of the single book called the "Torah or
Law". It records the Political and Religious constitution of
the nation of Israel and introduces it's first great leader,
Moses. We are now in the midst of a great new stage in the
development of the Messianic Nation that will bring forth
the Savior and Reedemer of the World through the birth,
death and Resurrection of Jesus the Messiah.

...The
book of Esther 2:3 and 2:9 WERE THE WOMEN GIVEN COSMETICS AS
MY NEW AMERICAN STANDARD TRANSLATES.IF NOT WHAT? IF SO,WHAT
WOULD THEY HAVE CONSISTED OF? 2:15 WHAT IS IT ESTHER [
COULD] HAVE TAKEN IN WITH HER TO THE KING?
Dear K.K. ...The NASV is not an
accurate translation so I don't know about cosmetics
...perhaps some scented bath oil and perfume. normally only
prostitutes wore heavy make up, except in the case of Queen
Jezebel. Esther chose not to wear any ornaments when she
went to the King. Perhaps her simple beauty made her stand
out. hope this helps
Thank you. That is the word I got
from my Hebrew and Greek study bible but I needed to be
absolutly sure.Thank you for the word about the NASV it will
change my world. kk

... Who was Elias and where
can I read about him in the Old Testament?
Dear Daryl, .... Elias (mentioned
30 times in the New Testament) is the Geek word for Elijah,
considered one of the greatest of the prophets. Elijah was
the only prophet Jesus identified with John the Baptist -
Matt.16:14, Mark 6:15, John 1:21-25. John the Baptist came
in the same spirit, and power of Elijah.... Although John
did no miracles, he preached repentance as Elijah did.

What does eye for an
eye, tooth for a tooth
reference?
Dear Greg, .... This is a part of
the 42 death penalty sins ( murder, kidnapping, cursing or
striking parents, drunkedness, incest, homosexuality,
lesbianism, backsliding, consulting psychics etc.etc. ...
which reduced crime and reduced the need for prisons. In the
case of the tooth it pertained to hitting a pregnant married
woman ...see Ex 21:24, Lev 24:20, De:19:21 .. many of these
sins are also condemned in the New Testament
... See 613
commandments
