H.... I
am a menber of Basic
English Society in Japan. I
am very interested in the Bible in Basic English. So I am
reading the Bible every day. I am a Buddhist. I am
interested in the old testament. Basic English was made a
discovery by C.K.Ogden who was a British linguist. It has
only 850 words with which we are able to say to other
persons. The Holy Bible says ' In the beginning God created
the heaven and the earth.' Would you give me your idea about
'heaven'?
Thank you.
Hyoe ... The Bible speaks of 3 heavens. The first heaven
is the earth's atmosphere which contains the clouds and air.
The second heaven is the portion above the earths atmosphere
which we call space and contains the sun, moon, planets and
stars. The third Heaven
is the dwelling place of God....

Could you please tell me why in books like
"Harry Potter and the
Sorcerer's Stone" people claim
it to be witchcraft?? Isn't witchcraft evil whereas the
magic in Harry Potter does not look evil. I know the bible
condemns witchcraft but how do they see this as witchcraft..
My point is this is getting kids to read again and wanting
to read, it is just fantasy. .... So why now are there
people out there saying Harry Potter should be rid
of???
Dear
Daryl,.... I'd heard a
lot about the Harry Potter books, how they were filled with
the occult, witches, spells, potions, and more. So, I
finally read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, by J. K.
Rowling. Would I recommend it to Christians to read? Yes,
and no. Yes, if you are doing research on the influence of
the occult in today's society, On the other hand, I would
not recommend it if you want to guard you or your children
from the influence of occult principles and ideas. I'm sorry
to say that the Potter book I read was definitely filled
with witches, potions, spells, ghosts, magic wands, flying
broomsticks, and more. It was definitely heavily into the
occult. T he Potter book(s?) do teach things in direct
contradiction to scripture.
In the book, Harry Potter is an orphaned young boy. His
parents were killed by an evil sorcerer named Voldemort who,
for some unknown reason, couldn't kill Harry when he was an
infant. The child is then delivered to his relatives who are
Muggles, people who do not believe in magic. Harry, who is
unaware of his true parentage and the world of magic, spends
10 years living in dingy conditions under the stairs of
these selfish and uncaring Muggles. Finally, a giant named
Hagrid appears with a startling invitation to study at
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Of course, Harry
attends and is introduced to the previously unknown world of
magic. The rest of the book takes place at the school. The
occult flavor of the book is aptly represented in some of
the course books required for the classes at the school: The
Standard Book of Spells, A History of Magic, Magical Theory,
Magical Drafts and Potions, The Dark Forces: a Guide to
Self-Protection, etc.
In the book several spells are cast and we see the use of
an invisibility cloak, magic wands, and flying broomsticks.
Witches are basically people who have magic skills. Ghosts
are helpful. Mention is made of the need to study the stars
and their names, which can affect magic, along with herbs
and fungi which are used in potions. In all, there is plenty
of magic, wizardry, spells, as well as plain old suspense
and drama. The book was written well enough to keep one's
interest. Too bad it was filled with so much dark
occultism. Furthermore, lying and deception were not
condemned. Instead, they were justifiably used to accomplish
the necessary ends of the characters.
As a Christian, I can't see the influence being a
positive one. Second, biblically, we are to focus on godly
things, not the ungodly. As the Apostle Paul said :
"Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable,
whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely,
whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and
if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these
things," (Phil. 4:8). The Bible condemns contacting the
dead, séances, etc. Therefore, as a Christian parent,
I would not want my children reading the Potter's books
because I don't want them to be influenced in any way
towards the occult. I believe the Harry Potter books to be
harmful spiritually.... from

.. I am learning about
hypnotic

beliefs? I need these to show my professor.

What is the special meaning on "hinds
feet"from verse19, chapter 3, Book of Habakuk? thank
you
Dear Angela ...
Habakkuk, written
about 665 B.C., records a conversation between the prophet
and God, making it clear that unless Judah repents they
could expect destruction as a Nation. In the last verse,
Habakuk declares the Lord is his strength and that He would
make him as sure - footed as a hind and make him walk upon
high places. A hind is a female Hart or red deer at least 3
years old. ... hope this helps
Thank you very much.It is real
help.May God bless you
In the Bible who's lips
quivered and bones decayed when they heard the voice of the
Lord?
Dear Christine, .....The Book of
Habakkuk,
written about 665 B.C. records a conversation between the
prophet and God. In chapter 3 he prays for Israel to be
revived and in verse 16, he when he heard the Word of God,
his belly trembled, his lips quivered, his bones became
rotten and he trembled within himself.

Where is the ancient land of
Havilah
located today?
Dear Shirley, It is generally
believed to be in the Southwest part of Arabia see Ancient
map.
H
... Who wrote the letter to the
Hebrews?
Dear Karl, The writer of the letter
to the Hebrews is anonymous. While early Churches of the
East as well as some modern authors regard Paul as the
author, there is no proof of this. This Epistle sets the
claims of Christianity before the Jews and reveals the
shadows and types of the Mosaic system in order to bring
them to the full realization of the relationship between
Judaism and Christianity .....hope this helps,
H
..What is the definition of
the name Herod
(as in Herod the Great?) How
did the kings come to be called Herod?
Dear Paul, Herod or "son of the hero". The Herods were
Edomites ( sons of Esau ) A Dynasty or line of kings. Herod
the Great killed the children of Bethlehem in an effort to
kill Jesus. His son, Herod Antipas, killed John the Baptist,
His grandson ,Herod Agrippa 1, killed James the Apostle. His
great grandson, Herod Agrippa 11 was the King before whom
Paul was tried, hope this helps.

Can you change God's mind? And can you
give me some bible verses that back up your answer? Thank
you.
Dear Lin, Read 2 Kings 20:1-11 regarding
Hezekiah's prayer

Why does God choose to have a
special relationship with the
Hebrews
he frees in Egypt and what does God's covenant with these
people have to do with the rest of the world?
Dear Jared, the word Hebrew comes
from Heber, grandson of Shem - (see www.wcie.net/bible.studies.htm/sgTimeline.htm
- God promised that one
of Eve's descendants (the Messiah) would crush the head of
Satan and render him powerless in his authority as the god
of this world, which authority Satan obtained from Adam ....
Genesis 3:15a
Later,
God chose Abraham as the person whose descendant (the
Messiah) would bless all the familes of the earth ...
Genesis 12:3
Later,
when David became King of Israel, God promised David that
his house, his Kingdom and his Throne would be forever. All
three were removed from King Zedekiah ( see also Timeline
above )... 2 Samuel 7:16
Later,
when the Messiah came the first time on Palm Sunday as the
King of Israel, He was rejected by his own people and
crucified .. Zechariah 9:9, Matthew 21:5
And now we await the second coming of the Messiah in Power
and Great Glory to reign as King of Israel and King of Kings
or King of the World .. hope this helps

..Hello, I have enjoyed reading your website. I have been
raised in church all my life. I want so much to be a good
Christian woman and have a relationship with God. But I just
believe there is no way I can ever make it into
Heaven
because I have been married
several times. This really bothers me all the time. And
every Sunday that I sit in church I think I am wasting my
time because God will never accept me into his Kingdom no
matter how hard I try to be obedient to His Word and do His
will.
Dear Writer. Jesus first convert (
the woman at the well ) had been married five times and was
living with a man who was not her husband. God forgave her
and He will forgive you..... Pray the prayer at
www.wcie.net/bible.studies.htm/sg48.htm
from your heart and begin taking our Bible College course
(maybe your husband will join you) at www.wcie.net/bible.av.htm
you will NOT be wasting
your time. Disregard wagging tongues. Determine that you are
going to Heaven and spend Eternity with Jesus, the thief on
the cross, the woman at the well and many, many others. Keep
us informed of your progress. I will bring your request to
our Monday prayer meeting,

... These are some questions that a friend of mine asked me
and I don't have a answer for him. What and where
is
Hell?
If you could show me exact passages to show him I would
really appreciate it. Thank you,
Dear Mary, ... Hell is a powerful
deterrent from evil and needs to be preached from Church
pulpits. Hell is not the grave but rather a pit of Eternal
torment for the Lost (Mt 16:18) located in the heart of the
Earth. (Mt 12:40) Many Kings, Presidents. Lawmakers and
World Leaders will live there along with the unsaved after
Death (Isa 14:9-11) The knowledge of Hell comes almost
exclusively from Jesus (Mt 9:48) " a place where the worm
dieth not and the fire is not quenched." In Mt 5:22, Jesus
compares it to The Valley of Hinnom or Gehenna (James 3:6)
which was the continuously burning garbage dump just
Southwest of Jerusalem where not only garbage was burned but
also the dead bodies of animals and criminals. Newborn
babies were also murdered there by letting them roll down
the arms of Molech into the flames.(2 Chron. 28:3; 33:6 )
.... a sort of Old Testament Planned Parenthood. (see
below)...Hell was prepared for Satan and his band of fallen
Angels ( Mt 25:41) and after Adam's fall, was expanded and
continues to expand to include the increasing numbers of
fallen mankind (Isa 5:14) .hope this helps

...
the name of the valley below jerusalem in the old testament
where children were sacrificed
Dear Sawsan, ...The
Valley of ( the sons
of ) Hinnom or Gehenna
(James3:6) was the continuously burning garbage dump just
Southwest of Jerusalem where not only garbage was burned but
also the dead bodies of animals and criminals were cremated.
Newborn babies were also murdered alive and cremated by
letting them roll down the arms of Molech alive into the
flames. ... 2 Chron 28:3; 33:6 The Topheth or Tophet, a
large drum, was beat to drown out the screams of the newborn
babies being murdered so as not to disturb the worshippers.
....2 Kings 23:10. The Priests
and Ministers approved of all this for political reasons.
Some have called this the Planned Parenthood of the Old
Testament ..This makes our present day partial birth
abortions where the baby's head is crushed like an egg as he
or she exits the womb and then the brains are sucked out
seem rather mild by comparison

I love what you are doing. I
couldn't believe it when I opened my email and found the
answer to my question. Keep up the good work. ..Chinedu
In the bible it is said "after death, the judgment," my
question is does it mean that after the judgment the person
will go to Heaven or
Hell
or he will stay somewhere till
at the last day?
Dear Ann, The best explanation can
be found by listening to the Real Audio at http://www.wcie.net/bible.studies.htm/sg61.htm...
hope this helps.
