L... I
need help finding summaries of points in the bible like The
Discovery of the book of
the
Law in Second Kings 22 and 23
chapters. I have to write a paper and pull out the Biblical
meaning of the text but I dont know where to find sources
and I don't understand what I read anyway. Help
please!!!
Dear Tasha, The Biblical meaning
and the plain English meaning are one and the same, for
example in verse 3 ...When King Josiah turned 26 he sent
Shaphan to Hilkiah, who was the High Priest in charge of the
Temple, with instructions to repair the Temple. In the
process of repair, the Original Book of the Law, ( Bible or
Penteteuch ) was found which had been missing or hidden
during the wicked reign of King Manasseh and King Amon (
much like some people today would like to do away with the
10 commandments and the Bible ). The story goes on to tell
how King Josiah had the Book read to him and realized the
Nation was in BIG trouble ....You can find what upset the
Josiah at www.wcie.net

Where in the bible does it show us
what love
is.?
Dear Ricky,
Love
( Greek Phiadelphia or Phileo) meaning brotherly love
or fondness ..... and Love (
Greek Agapao or Agape) meaning Divine love with regard for
God and His Laws. The definition for Agape Love is found in
I Corinthians 13. The ingredients are Patience, Kindness,
Generosity, Humility, Courtesy, Unselfishness, Good Temper,
Righteousness and Sincerity...... Things to love found in
the Bible are: God, Neighbors, Strangers, Salvation, God's
Name, God's Word, Wisdom, Good, Mercy, Truth, Peace, Enemys,
Saints, Husbands, Wives and Children...... Ways to love are:
With all the heart, soul, mind and strength - as one loves
himself - exceedingly - as Christ loves us - enough to lay
down life for others - without hypocrisy - by the Holy Ghost
- by service to one another - forbearing one another - with
a pure heart fervently - not in word but in deed - without
fear. ......Be sure to read "Faith
works through Love"at http://www.wcie.net/bible.studies.htm/love.htm.

How does the book of Luke portray Jesus?
Dear Rosheba,
...Luke, called the
beloved Physician by Paul was the only Gentile writer of the
Books of the Bible. He was not an eye witness to the
ministry of Jesus. He was a Greek of excellent education and
gave preeminence to the healings of Jesus. Luke presents
Jesus the Messiah to the new Greek converts as Jesus,
God's Ideal Man....
hope this helps.

.... Is there a
hidden book inside
Leviticus?
Is there another name for it?
Dear Flora, In the Mishnah it is called "the
priest's book", In the Talmud "Law of the priests".
Many scholars recognize Leviticus 17 - 26 as a
seperate law code, or the "Holiness Code".
What is the
Levitical
law and why was it
established? do the israelites still have to abide
by it? where should I go for more
information?
Dear Darryl , ... This book was given to Moses
by God to enable a Holy God to live in residence
(the Tabernacle and later the Temple) with an
unholy people. It legislates the cultural, civil,
social, moral, and ecomomic life of the people God
had redeemed from bondage. As God draws near to the
people in the Tabernacle and later the Temple, so
the people draw near to God in the prescribed
offerings and through the prescribed priesthood.
While the ceremonial Laws have been done away with
or rather fufilled by Jesus the Messiah, our
Passover Lamb and our Great High Priest.in Heaven.
The rest of the Moral Law remains as a guide to
living a holy life. All of these 613 laws can be
found at www.biblestudent.com

I don't know if you remember me but
I sent you a question about a month ago. The question stated
that I had been confused for quite some time about what
makes certain Old Testament laws okay to be taught in the
New Testament church and others okay to ignore. I
appreciated your honesty in that you we're unsure on how
this should be taught. Nevertheless,I continued to pursue
sound doctrine on this issue. I believe God has illuminated
truth on this subject and I would appreciate your evaluation
on whether you believe I am understanding this correctly or
incorrectly.
If the act was part of the
"Ceremonial Law" it no longer needs to be practiced by the
New Testament believer because it was only a shadow of the
work Christ would fufill(i.e. animal sacrifices, ceremonial
washings). But, God's "Moral Law" is principle base and is to
be obeyed for all ages (i.e. Ten Commandments,Pre-Law
Tithing).I believe that is why Paul was able to back up
certain of his teachings with Old Testament law even though
he taught that we are under "grace" not "law". Examples of
this would be Ephes 6:1-2 , 1 Cor 9:8-9 , & 1 Tim
5:17-18. Please give your honest response.
Dear Darryl, This is a good explanation !
L I am
searching for any information on
Lazarus.
We have a question about his age, life, etc....I would like
to make a timeline with his life listed on it. Thank you in
advance for your help.
Dear Connie, Not one word from him is recorded in the
Bible. It is the longest Gospel account of a miracle and the
climax of the signs in John's Gospel. The Priests wanted to
kill him because the crowds going out from Jerusalem made
him the Main Tourist Attraction. He was a close friend of
Jesus and his disciples (John 11:11)
He lived with his sisters in Bethany near Jerusalem just
south of the Mount of Olives. His name means "God
helps".......hope this helps
