97........................Jesus calls the people and explains to them
{10} And he called the multitude, and said to them, Hear, and understand: {11} Not that which goes into the mouth defiles a man; but that which comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man. {12} Then came his disciples, and said to him, Did you know that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying? {13} But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father has not planted, shall be rooted up. {14} Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.{15} Then answered Peter and said to him, Declare unto us this parable. {16} And Jesus said, Are you also yet without understanding? {17} Do not you yet understand, that whatever enters in at the mouth goes into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? {18} But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. {19} For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: {20} These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defiles not a man. Matthew 15:1-20 ------------------------------------------------------------
{14} And when he had called all the people unto him, he said to them, Listen to me every one of you, and understand: {15} There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man. {16} If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.{17} And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable. {18} And he said unto them, Are you so without understanding also? Do you not perceive, that whatever thing from without enters into the man, it cannot defile him; {19} Because it enters not into his heart, but into the belly, and goes out into the draught, purging all foods? {20} And he said, That which comes out of the man, that defiles the man. {21} For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, {22} Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: {23} All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. Mark 7:1-23
The Withdrawal to Tyre and Sidon
Syrophoenician woman's daughter healed
{21} Then Jesus went away, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. {22} And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. {23} But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she cries after us. {24} But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. {25} Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. {26} But he answered and said, It is not fair to take the children's bread, and cast it to dogs. {27} And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. {28} Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as you will. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour Matthew 15:21-28.------------------------------------------------
{24} And from there he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into a house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid. {25} For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet: {26} The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter. {27} But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not fair to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs. {28} And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs. {29} And he said unto her, For this saying go your way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter. {30} And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.
