Netscape
Composer is available at:
http://home.netscape.com/download/index.html
1.) Start Composer by opening
Netscape Communicator and choosing (Page)
Composer from the Windows menu on a PC or from the Netscape icon menu
on a Macintosh. Click File/New/Page
from Template
2.) Click Netscape
Templates to look at samples at
the Netscape site.
3.) When you see a page you like, select File/Edit
Page. This saves it to the hard
drive
4.) Select File/Save
As and name it
index.html
Save it to your disk in a www directory folder.
1.) Select File/New/Page from Wizard
to connect over the Internet.
2.) Scroll in the upper right frame and click the Start Button on the
Netscape page.
3.) In the upper left frame, click each of the blue underlined links,
starting with "give your page a title" Fill in the info. requested in
the bottom frame. Click the Apply button.
4.) Scroll down the left frame, clicking each link, for
"introduction", "hot links", "conclusion", "color choices" and "email
link". Fill in requested information for each item and click
Apply.
5.) Click the Build button when you are done making selections. A
preview appears.
6.) Save your page and image files to disk. Choose File/Edit Page
from the File Menu.
7). Get your documents organized to avoid losing work: Choose
File/Save As
and rename the document index.html if it is the leading web page
document.
TIP Composer may resize your images incorrectly. To fix this,
double click
on the image to bring up
the Image
Dialog. Click Original
Size in the Dimension
section to fix this.
Change Page Properties: Color, Title, Text color, etc Select Format
> Page Properties
New:
Create from Blank Page, Wizard, Template or Open a Local (text)
File
Open:
Select a local text or html document off the disk or hard drive
Save:
Saves the document to current location. (File/Save
As will let you change the
location.)
Publish:
FTP documents to server. Preview:
Shows the Netscape version of the current composer document
Cut:
Move selected text/images off the Page to the clipboard
Copy:
Make a copy of the selected
text/images to the clipboard
Paste:
Puts selection on the clipboard, at the location of the cursor on the
page
Print:
Prints to an attached or networked printer
Find:
Finds text on the current page
Link:
Makes selected text or image
clickable. In the Link To: Type in The URL:
http://www.meoryou.com
Or clickable email address: mailto:abc1234@me.com
Target:
Invisible section marker in a page to link to: resume.html#job
experience
where job experience is the target section of the document.
Image:
Place a link to a .GIF or .JPG image file. Set dimensions and
format
Note: You must keep the image file in the same location

Line: Horizontal line used as
sectional split. Click and drag to resize it.
Table:
Create tables of designated rows
and columns. Place text, images or links in
the table cells. (Can be difficult to format complex tables)
Spelling:
Built in spell checker, it can
learn terms and knows many Internet terms.
