Double-click the Strata VideoShop icon to start VideoShop. From the File Menu, select NEW to start a new project.

The Project Settings dialog appears. Click on the Internet option and notice the Project Settings automatically adjust to
Width:160, Height:120, and FPS:15. This means that your project will be 160 pixels wide by 120 pixels high, and will
play at 15 frames per second. Click OK

The Project window is where you piece together media clips to create a movie. It is also where the frame by frame editing
takes place and special effects are applied. The Canvas window is where you view the movie as it is being created. It is
also where you arrange the layout of the movie. Video clips can be resized and repositioned in the Canvas window.The
Bin window is where you collect the media files to be used in your movie. You start a project by gathering media files
Choose Import and select the item

After gathering your clips, you arrange them in the Project window by dragging their icon into the window The Bin window also displays valuable statistics about your files.

To work in a particular window, click once in the window to make it active The Project window contains various types of
tracks used to store different media clips. Video clips are placed in video tracks, audio clips are placed in audio tracks,
and so on. Tracks can be added, as needed, to store and layer additional clips. After clips are arranged in the proper tracks, the Project window's editing tools are used to fine-tune the movie.

The Project window works in two modes: Storyboard view and Time view. Story-board view is used to quickly arrange
the pieces of your movie. Time view is where more advanced editing takes place and special effects are applied.

In the Bin window, you can: Import files to use in a movie -Organize media files -Preview clips-Display information
about the clips- Analyze files etc.

For this tutorial You may use media clips from the Tutorial Clips folder There are movie clips, QuickTime 3D movies,
audio, and TuneBuilder™ files.

To import files for your project: -Click the Import button in the Bin window. The import dialog box appears.
Locate the Tutorial Clips folder and view the tutorial files in the upper box. Select the Fire Up clip by highlighting
the file with the mouse. Click the Add button to add the clip Also select and add the Dragster and Hang Glider files t
o the list.. Click the Done button

Some files may have video only, or audio only. Others may have video and audio, and others may have additional media
When you import a file for the first time, it appears in the Bin with an icon that represents the type of media contained in
the source file. This is useful for determining the type of track to be used while building a movie.

Some examples of files that may be imported into VideoShop are : QuickTime movie file -AIFF or SND audio file
QuickTime 3D movie file -TuneBuilder audio file
