NOTE You can also use the Zoom In and Zoom Out buttons, on either side of the menu, to change the view one zoom factor at a time.watch the Info readouts at the top of the Project window. shows timing information about selected clip.Copying and Pasting in Time View With the frames selected, choose COPY SELECTION from the Edit menu.From the Edit menu, choose PASTE If the pasted clip is not flush against the edge of the clip, position the cursor over the Slide bar (the blue bar) at the base of the new clip.The cursor changes to a Hand cursor.Click to grab the Slide bar.Slide the new clip to the left until it is flush.
To delete an entire clip in Time view: Double-click on the new clip at the end of the movie.Insertion point A new clip is created and pasted at the Insertion point Click and grab Slide bar to move clips in tracks Slide clip to the left until it is flush A marquee appears around the entire clip.Select DELETE SELECTION from the Edit menu. The clip is removed.
Trimming Select the Clip readout from the Info readout pop-up menu. Move the scroll bar until the beginning of the clip is in view.Where the clips meet in the video track, place the cursor over the clip's starting Trim handle. This is the green triangle (pointing to the right) on the left side of the blue Slide bar.The cursor changes to a Trim cursor.Click and drag to the right to trim frames from the beginning of the clip.Once a clip has been trimmed, the green triangle turns red. Slide both clips to the left to fill in the gap caused by trimming
Adding Clips in Time View You can also add clips to a movie when the Project window is in Time view. However, you have to be careful where you place the new clips when dragging them from the Bin. The first frame of the clip will be placed at the location of the cursor, when released. If a clip is dragged on top of an existing clip, the existing clip will split and the new clip will be inserted.
APPLYING SPECIAL EFFECTS - FILTER EFFECTS To apply a Filter effect: If the Project window is not already in Time view, click the Storyboard/Time View button in the Project window to switch to Time view. Set the zoom factor to Half Second in the Zoom pop-up menu. Scroll the Project window until the clip is in view. Double-click the clip A marquee appears around the entire clip. Click the Filter button in the Project window. The Apply Filter dialog box appears. Scroll through the list of filter effects and select one Click the Build button. If you would like to see the effect as it is being built, click the Show Preview box After the effect is built, it is played in the Apply Filter dialog box..Click OK to accept the filter.A solid blue line (the Effects bar) appears above the selected frames in the Project window, indicating that an effect has been applied. NOTE To delete a filter, click on the blue effects bar and choose DELETE from the Edit menu.
TRANSITION EFFECTS are used to blend the end of one video clip with the beginning of another. For example, rather than abruptly ending one clip and beginning another, you might dissolve from one to the next. The first ends by disappearing gradually while the second comes into view slowly, making a seamless transition between the two clips. In Time view, select the transition between the clips. Select the Mirrored Selection tool from the Project window tool palette.The Mirrored Selection tool is used to select an equal number of frames on both sides of a clip junction. Make a selection across the junction of he two clips with the Mirrored Selection tool.- Observe the Duration readout Click on the Transition button in the Project window. The Apply Transition dialog appears. Scroll through the list of available tran-sition effects and select When you have applied a transition, VideoShop creates a new clip in the Project window and adds a blue line (the Effects bar)
