ADDING TITLES TO YOUR MOVIE To add a Title track: Press the Add Track button in the project window and choose Title Track from the pop-up menu. Make a selection in the title track over the clip. From the Windows menu select OPEN TITLING WINDOW. From the Font pop-up menu, select or any font you like. From the Size select 12. From the Scrolling Direction pop-up menu, select In. From the Direction pop-up menu, select From Bottom. Type in the following text: "Have Fun", hit Return "with", hit Return "VideoShop" Click on the Justify Left button. Click the Insert Into Project

CREATING QUICKTIME MOVIES Click in the Project Choose SAVE MOVIE from the File menu. The Save as, select Self-Contained. From the Movie Size pop-up menu, select 160 x 120.- Check the Mixdown video and Smart Mixdown options box to enable the Video Compression mixdown options. Click Compression to display a Compression Settings dialog. select Video. Set the Quality slider to Most. From the Frames per second field enter 15 NOTE You cannot save a movie with a higher frame rate than your project. Leave the other fields empty and click OK. Click OK Locate the folder you want to save the movie in, and type the name of your QuickTime movie. Click Save. A Progress bar appears. The movie can also be imported into another VideoShop project like any other media file.

DIGITIZING CLIPS AND PRINTING TO VIDEOTAPE To enable the digitizing card's audio channel, set your computer's Control Panels as follows: set the Sound In option to AV Connector or External Input. To improve digitizing performance, it is recommended that you Turn off network sharing. Quit any other applications you aren't using.To display the Digitizing window: open the Digitizing window with the SHOW DIGITIZING WINDOW command. To use the clips, import them into the Binwhen you start a project. The Project Settings dialog appears. Click on the Internet setting. Both the Recording and Project Settings change to Width:160, Height:120, and FPS:15. This means that the clips you digitize will be 160 pixels wide by 120 pixels high. Your VideoShop project will also have the same settings and have a frame rate of 15 frames per second. Click OK to start a new project with these settings.

To configure the Digitizing software: From the Digitize menu, select VIDEO ON A checkmark next to the command indicates it's active. From the Digitize menu, select SOUND ON to enable the Audio digitizing function. From the Digitizing menu, select SOUND SETTINGS select Source. From the Device pop-up menu, select Built-In. This may be the only option From the Speaker pop-up menu, select On. This will allow you to hear the audio through your computer's speaker while you're recording. To test your connections: Turn on your VCR, insert a tape, and press play. Observe the video appears in the preview area of the Digitizing window. Observe the audio is playing through your computer's speakers. To adjust the digitized video image: Click on the Image Settings button in the Digitize window. To adjust the signal level of digitized audio: Select the Sound Settings command from the Digitizing menu. Adjust the gain until the audio signal peaks into the red•2. Adjust the Gain control slider until the audio signal peaks slightly into the red on the Level meter. Press the Record button in the Digitizing window. Digitizing begins and the Record button turns into a Stop button. The Disk Space Available bar at the bottom of the window shows the space remaining on your hard drive To stop digitizing, click the mouse button once. Wait approximately 15 seconds and press the Stop button.

To change the duration of still images: Still images have a duration of one second. You can change the duration using the Stretch tool. Click the Storyboard/Time View button to switch the Project window to Time view. Select the Stretch tool from the Project window. Set the Info readouts to Clip mode. Move the cursor to the last frame of the still image clip. The cursor changes to the Stretch cursor. Watch the Clip Info Duration readout and drag the Stretch cursor in either direction. Release the mouse at the desired duration

PRINTING TO VIDEOTAPE When you have finished making a movie, you can print the movie onto a videotape. This is done with the PRINT TO VIDEO command. PRINT TO VIDEO can also be used to preview how the printed tape will appear. Your computer screen blacks out and only the movie is shown. Select OPEN from the File menu. Locate one of your saved projects and click Open. Choose PRINT TO VIDEO from the File menu. Click on the larger icon in the Playback screen area to play the movie on your monitor. The smaller icon represents the output port to the video recording device. Only one icon will appear if you have less than 4 MB of VRAM Click OK. The dialog closes, a 10 second count-down is displayed, and the movie is played on your monitor.
