To Re-install a real player you must delete all beta and earlier Player components from your Macintosh, perform the following steps:
1 Drag and drop the RealPlayer folder to the trash can. If you do not remember where it is located, use the Find command in the File menu to ocate it. 2. Open the hard disk 3. Open the System Folder.4. Drag and drop the Real folder to the trash can.5. Open the Preferences folder.6. Drag and drop the following folders into the trash can:RealMedia SDK Preferences RealPlayer G2 Preferences. RealShared Preferences RealUpdate Preferences7. Close the Preferences folder, then open the Application Support folder. Drag and drop the Common and Real folders into the trash can. 8. Close the Application Support folder, then open the Extensions folder. Drag and drop the Real folder into the trash can. 9. Close the Extensions folder, then close the System Folder. 10. Close all folders open on the desktop.
How to remove the G2 Macintosh plugins: Internet Explorer 4.01 or higher: 1. Open the hard disk. 2. Open the Internet folder. 3. Open the Internet Applications folder. 4. Open the Internet Explorer folder. 5. Open the Plugins folder. 6. Drag and drop the RealPlayer G2 Plugin and the RealPlayerG2classes.zip file into the trash can.
Netscape :1. Open the hard disk. 2. Open the Internet folder. 3. Open the Internet Applications folder 4. Open the Netscape Navigator folder. 5. Open the Plugins folder. 6. Drag and drop the RealPlayer G2 Plugin and the RealPlayerG2classes.zip into the trash can.
To reinstall the Player, restart your computer with only the System Extensions. To verify that you are using these system extensions:1. From the Apple Menu, select the Control Panels. 2. Select the Extension Manager.3. If you are using a custom extension set, name the current set of extensions you are using. To do this, select "Save Set" from the drop down "Selected Set" menu and assign them a name. 4. Click on the up/down arrow to the right of Selected Set.5. From the list that appears choose Mac OS 8.1 / 8.5.x Base or iMac 6. Click on restart the computer. This will temporarily disable non-essential extensions, which may conflict with software installations. The system will now have only the standard set of Apple's features and extensions turned on, including Internet connectivity. This set of extensions will enable the Player installation to complete. Once you have restarted with System Extensions only, run the Player installation file. After you have finished successfully installing, you may wish to rebuild your desktop file.
Apple recommends that you rebuild the desktop file after you install new software. To rebuild the desktop file, hold down the "Command"and "Option" keys while you restart the computer. Keep the keys held down until you see an alert reading "Are you sure you want to rebuild the desktop file on the disk "nameofhardrive"?" Release the keys andclick "OK". This process may take several minutes. If you wish to return to the custom set of extensions you were using before you installed the Player, select your saved custom Extension Set in the Extension Manager.

The AOL 3.0 browser is a customized version of the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser. RealPlayer G2 for Windows 95 is compatible with the Windows 95 version of the AOL 3.0 browser that is a 32-bit application. There are other versions of the AOL 3.0 browser for Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 that are 16-bit applications. If you are having problems using the RealPlayer G2 for Windows 95 with your AOL 3.0 web browser, you should verify that you have the 32-bit version of the browser.To verify that you are using the 32-bit version of the AOL browser: Reinstall the RealPlayer G2 by double-clicking the executable file. You can download the latest version of RealPlayer by opening the Player and clicking the Check for Upgrade option in the Help menu. During the installation, the installation program searches your hard drive for web browsers on your system. If the following browsers were found on your system dialog box does not display the AOL browser, then you have the 16-bit version of the browser. You will need to obtain the 32-bit version of the AOL 3.0 browser for Windows 95. If you are an AOL member, you can download the Windows 95 version of the AOL 3.0 browser for free from AOL. Sign on to AOL, select your Keyword icon, and when the dialog box appears type the word upgrade. The screen for the AOL 3.0 browser appears and explains the steps to upgrade. How do I configure the AOL 4.0 web browser to work with the RealPlayer G2?
The process for configuring helper programs (i.e., MIME types) in AOL 4.0 has changed. You can no longer make MIME type changes from within the AOL browser. AOL 4.0 now uses Windows 95 file type settings. Follow the steps below to set up AOL to automatically start RealPlayer when clicking a RealMedia link.
Note: A simpler way to accomplish this is to run the RealPlayer installation program again. Make sure you choose AOL 4.0 as your browser. From there everything will be configured automatically.
To manually configure the AOL 4.0 browser to automatically start RealPlayer G2 for Windows, do the following:

How do I configure Prodigy Internet's Netscape browser 3.0 to work with RealPlayer G2? Prodigy now has a new Internet Service called Prodigy Internet. Prodigy Internet provides its users with a custom version of the Netscape Navigator 3.0 browser for Windows 95. RealPlayer G2 for Windows 95 is compatible with this version of the Prodigy Internet Browser, however, some manual configuration is required. In addition to manually configuring the browser, you must set the RealPlayer HTTP Proxy to the same port that the Prodigy browser uses, Port 8080.
To configure the Prodigy Internet Netscape Browser to work with RealPlayer G2: From Prodigy Internet, start Netscape Navigator. Select General Preferences from the Options menu.
